Manchester United got their pre-season preparations off to a positive start with a win over rivals Leeds in Oslo.
Summer signing Mason Mount made his debut for Erik ten Hag’s side and went close to a brilliant goal on his first appearance when winning possession high up the pitch before launching an audacious chip, only to see the ball skim over the crossbar.
Lisandro Martinez, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane were among the other senior players handed a run-out, though ten Hag made major changes at the break.
A raft of young players looking to impress before the club head out to the United States for a tour were brought on, two of which got on the scoresheet.
Winger Noam Emeran opened the scoring with a fine finish before the Frenchman played a lovely ball through to striker Joe Hugill, who doubled the advantage.
